This rare terracotta idol was discovered near the village of Bernashivka, Mohyliv-Podilskyi Raion, Vinnytsia Oblast — a territory located along the Dniester River, which served as a major cultural corridor for the Cucuteni-Trypillia people. The figurine was uncovered during slope stabilization works on private farmland overlooking the river, alongside small pottery shards and charcoal remains, suggesting a former ritual hearth.
Hand-molded from local clay and partially preserved despite the millennia, the idol displays a stylized human form with faint geometric patterns. These figures are believed to have been used in fertility rites or domestic altars as symbols of protection, abundance, and spiritual presence in Neolithic households.
A powerful piece of prehistoric symbolism, this artifact offers collectors a direct link to the spiritual life of ancient Ukraine.
