This small ceramic figurine amphora was discovered near the village of Maydanetske, Uman Raion, Cherkasy Oblast — just south of one of the most significant Trypillia settlements ever excavated. The item was found during drainage works on a former vineyard hillside, where erosion revealed the edges of ancient cultural layers containing pottery shards, ash, and charred organic material.

The piece features a hybrid form, blending the silhouette of an amphora with abstract humanoid traits — a style known from ritual miniatures of the late Neolithic period. Likely used in domestic spiritual practices, such figurines are thought to represent deities or ancestral spirits, connected to protection, fertility, and the harvest.

An elegant and symbolic artifact from the sacred life of early agrarian Ukraine, this piece is ideal for collectors of ancient ritual objects and prehistoric ceramic art.
