This ancient ceramic amphora was discovered during roadside construction works near the village of Sobolivka in central Ukraine — an area historically rich in Trypillia cultural layers. A construction crew uncovered the vessel embedded within a collapsed earthen structure, likely once part of a Neolithic dwelling.
Shaped by hand and decorated with characteristic Trypillian motifs, the amphora was most likely used for storing grains or ritual liquids within a household altar. The elegant symmetry, combined with its ornamental markings, reflects the unique blend of utility and spiritual meaning that defines this prehistoric culture.
An outstanding piece for collectors of early ceramics, Ukrainian history, or European Neolithic archaeology.
